Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt – Season 1

I could start this review saying that this series was co-written by Tina Fey and that would be it, but I am sure you want a bit more!

Watching Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is like eating a entire bag of candy! If you are into candy of course, if you are not into candy… just imagine one of the things that make you smile like a fool and there you have it.

Netflix is building up its original productions with the House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Daredevil and it’s already closing deals for movie exclusivity. It’s expanding, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is a great addition to its portfolio of originals.

The series tells the story of Kimmy, a woman rescued from a doomsday cult and how she starts life again in New York. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is refreshing, because of the simple fact that she was living in an underground bunker, isolated from society, leading to hilarious situations.

Kimmy is relentlessly curious and positive about life and in each situation she finds herself it’s impossible not to smirk, smile or laugh it’s simply adorable to watch her.

Adding to the laughs is Kimmy’s roommate and her landlady who are peculiar enough to stand out. Towards the end of the series, there are some awesome cameos, completely unexpected but wait until you see who’s the cult’s reverend!

While I can’t say that every episode is excellent, overall it’s a good series, specially if you are looking for giddiness and happy feelings!

Excuse me now, as I will need to turn the Mystery Crank, hopefully something will happen…
